Juniors: Pre-Tournament Stress
So, being a junior myslef I know the high stress that comes with playing tennis. What do you do to eliminate that stress?
Crack and Liquor. J/K I don't get stress, so I can't really say. I always get excited to play and can't wait till my match.
i get stressed. the morning of a tournament i usually watch tv while eating cereal. try to get my mind cleared up. but its too exciting. lots of anxiety.
I don't really get stressed but I always listen to my top 5 favourite songs and get pumped up. Maybe have a 15 minute hit on a wall. And just try to think about my tactics and gameplan.
im like Voltron, i dont get stressed before matches i just cant wait to get out there and hit the ball

I am like voltron too, i wake up in the morning and i say to myself sweet, today is my tournament. I can't wait to get out their and play and see how my opponent is. I love to play tennis what can i say.:p

Yeah! Stress sucks =[.
But I just grab my iPod spend sometimes listening to my "pump-up rap" music and get loosened up. During the match the only thoughts that go through my mind are the lyrics and the beat of the music.... Helps me =/ dunno about you. |
I agree, tunes are good for pre-game. I have tunes on about 24/7 though, so I just always feel off without music.
I'm with Voltron. Crack and liquor solves it all. I don't stress anymore, just play my game if I lose bad luck, win another match that I paid for.
No stress, i get up and say awesome im playing tennis today even if its just practice
Play with yourself?
I mean keep yourself entertained of course. Like just do whatever you can to keep your mind off of all thing negative. When i say play with youself i mean if you are just about to start and all you can think about it stressful thing, just twiddle your thumbs, talk to youself, hum, whistle, anything to keep your mind of it. |
