Any racquet deformation problems with these stringers?

SP Swing
Alpha Pioneer DC Plus
MP Hercules 680
Gamma Progression II
Gamma Progression II FC

All are 6 pt mount, and I want to know if they're reliable as to not deform my racquets. (by 1/8 in or more. Significant enough to warp the head noticeably)

For the SW Swing, you really have to use some muscle to screw those vice knob underneath the mounts. If you do, it's fine.

Hey Mansewerz, I'm selling the ATP Super Stringer II. Just didn't feel relaible with the two pt. I got a Gamma progression II off a TW member though so I'm going to use that now.

Cool. How is the mounting system or have you not received it yet?

Also, more input is appreciated.

Hey, I just worked out a deal tonight so I won't recieve it for a while. I'll let you know how it is when I get it. What machine are you leaning towards to get?

The SP swing, the alpha pioneer dc plus, and possibly zhou's gamma progression II FC. I want the security of 6 pt mounts and I feel that the 2 point mount systems just may not be enough.

^^^^^

I feel the same way about the two pts, although after some practice I wasn't really getting any deformation. I think I will get more customers if they see that I have a six pt mount to support their racquet.

the alpha pioneer plus looks really nice

yea, and the price is good relative to other machines, but it's also expensive in general.

zidane339 05-17-2008 10:54 AM

yea, but its only $500 compared to the gamma progression,$469.plus the alpha has nice linear gripper and clamps

Mansewerz 05-17-2008 10:55 AM

yea, for $400, it can't be beat. I dunno, i've got to save up!

zidane339 05-17-2008 11:14 AM

haha yea stringing machines are really expensive.i'm glad i got a good deal for the gamma progression II.wish it was FCs though!haha

baek57 05-18-2008 01:58 AM

they might be expensive as an initial investment, but long term you end up saving a lot of money or making money if you strung for others.
