Balls for Ball Machine, give me your opinion

So Im pulling the trigger on a ball machine, next step is to fill it.
Give me your opinions on what pressureless balls you have used, likes, dislikes etc.

When I got my machine I bought two buckets of Penn practice balls. They seem to hold up pretty well. I also got some Gamma practice balls. Those things were totally dead in just a couple of weeks.

Tretorn Micro-X are the only pressureless balls that are worth a *****.

I use Slazenger Pressureless balls.
Cheap, easy to find and not a bad hit.

Be careful with perssureless balls. They are extremely stiff and your arm might regret it later.

Penn pressureless 48 for <$30 at Sports Chalet. Great bang for the buck.

Ditto here on Tretorn Micro-X. They are hard on the arm, though.

For my ball basket i have had the same balls for about 2 years...we always take a few from our local club shhhhhh :)

I pretty much use any pressureless ball that I can find haha. Works out pretty well, never had any problems. But of course if you want it to feel more like a pressurized ball, Micro-X balls are best.

tennisfever8181 09-11-2008 05:17 PM

I just use regular balls.. haha they work fine.

Micro-X by a landslide, and mix in a few random other balls to give some real variety to the shots....

autumn_leaf 09-14-2008 04:36 PM

i use slazengers cause they "were" at my Dicks sporting goods. they sold for 30 for 48 balls but for some reason they replaced them with the crappy gamma balls....

firstblud 09-14-2008 09:21 PM

are there any good websites that sell GOOD special colored balls (not regular yellow)?

i am thinking about getting different color balls for drill purpose.

dak95_00 09-16-2008 11:44 AM

Gamma makes a two tone ball for practice. You should be able to find them at nearly any tennis store/outlet.

firstblud 09-16-2008 12:07 PM

i keep reading that gamma isn't so good, quality-wise

anyone know a good place to buy tretorn micro-x balls? i called rockee mtn sports and they don't have deals for retail customers.
