Where Is Your Car From?

Where is your car or cars from (just by the name of the car)? We're not talking about where exactly it was produced.

Japanese. Parents brought a used '93 Civic for my sister and me in '99, and it is still running strong. Only work done on it has been preventative/upkeep (brakes, oil, transmission fluid, etc) and a new muffler at one point. Hope to have it last at least one more year.

I'm not sure how to answer. I have a ford fusion which is a mazda 6. I would guess about 50/50.

Here is one of mine. I have owned it since 1974. American company, like every car I have purchased!

Nice looking car!

My BMW is made in the US but the company is actually German. I also have a Nissan Frontier 05', 2x Nissan 240sx's, and a Datsun 240Z 72' from Japan.

If my memory is correct it was Hamtramck, Michigan.

Or, maybe St Louis (Fenton) MO?

Hamtramck (Dodge Main) is long gone. The plant was demolished to make way for the GM Poletown Plant.

Your VIN number will tell you for certain.

What do you think about the remake of the Charger?

origmarm 03-18-2009 03:36 AM

I currently have an American car I guess (Ford), though I believe it was built in the UK.

I have probably had cars from pretty much every producing nation at some point thinking back :)

I have a real soft spot for the old US muscle cars though, that pic from Jim is my idea of perfection at the moment

The Charger remake is nothing like the origional.
Now the remake of the Challenger is more like the origional, and with the hemi thats available its one nice car.

origmarm 03-18-2009 04:39 AM

^^^ If I lived in the US that Challenger remake would be my next car if it's as good as would appear.
