Mixing double-bend & straight-arm forehand mechanics?

There can be many different kinds of forehand swing mechanics, but it seems that double-bend and straight-arm are most often used by the pros.

As for me, double-bend provides more consistency and better timing, whereas straight-arm provides more action and pace (probably due to the added momentum created by elbow flexion as the forearm approcheas the ball). In other words, each has its pros and cons.

My question is, as a recreational player (about 4.0), is it better to find out which mechanics works better for you and stick with that one mechanics only, or to mix both mechanics in your games as the occasion demands?
