Greatest racquet all time!

Well, the Pro Staff 6.0 is a piece of history, but surprisely i'm going to go with the Pro Kennex Copper Ace. Most beautifully weighted racquet i've ever used in 30 years of tennis. I could volley, slice, drop shots, rip the ball cross court with a flick of the wrist. Still to this day I haven't found a weapon that gave me such touch (The racquet is over 20 years old). Sure, today it has no power, but my God, for those of you out there who have played with the 'ace' you will understand the greatness. For those of you who haven't, search everywhere you can and try it!

Submit your weapon?

Why do you people have to blemish what could be a great thread with this childish rubbish???
My first real racquet when I was 10yrs old, was a Pro Kennex...
And I can't say i had any unpleasent experiences with the racquet.. It wasn't overly powerful but it did everything I wanted to do...
And I served my first ever ace with it, aged about 13...
Might go back to PK with the new Black Ace...

I loved the Pro Kennex copper Ace! It was the second adult-sized racquet I ever used, and was absolutely great.

Sure it could be a great thread.....one that's been done a hundred times. You want a real answer? Prostaff 85.....followed by the Thomas and friends racquet.

sanchino 07-14-2009 07:05 AM

Dunlop MAX200G

PS85 was great, but go back even further. The Wilson Jack Kramer was a classic.

what a sweet paintjob. beautiful racquet.

tennisdad65 07-14-2009 11:49 AM

For me it is the copper ace too! :)

I have used the PS85 & POG and both are very nice. But the copper ace is so much sweeter for control. You can generate so much spin even by driving through the ball. Soft on the arm. Easy to volley, hit slice, topspin, flat...

BUT it is sometimes tough to find the sweet spot on reflex volleys or topspin shots. You gotta get your hand/eye co-ordination up before using a copper ace, to prevent framing.

The only other classic I want to try / buy and use is the max200g.

The greatest racquet of all time is the Wilson Hammer 6.4 with powerholes.

I was wondering the very same thing.

I dont recall a hundreds of threads proclaiming the Copper Ace to be the greatest racquet of all time.

I used a Copper Ace after buying two when my Head XRC was stolen. At first I bought them because the paintjob was a similar to the XRC and it felt okay swinging in the store. But It really was a great racquet and much more forgiving than the XRC. I used the Copper Ace for over 5 years and I still have one but it's pretty beat up.
Good on you richied, Pro Kennex Copper Ace is a contender in my book.
