Cincinnati - the real Slam

Today's semifinals feature the top 4 players. Unlike the last 2 "Slams". I contend that whoever wins here is the real #1 and the GOAT. I have a feeling it won't be the guy with the elegant strokes.

Um.....no.

Don't think that's how it works there, champ.

You have to give credit where credit is due.

Fact is, Fed is up against 3 players who have all beaten him in the past, and who share the attribute of not having too much love for him. Quite different from a Roddick or Del Potro or Haas or Soderling who lose a match to him before the first serve is struck. This is his real test as a champion.

Fact is, at RG, Nadal, Murray, and Djoko were all knocked out before they could face Federer, and at Wimbledon, Murray and Djoko were knocked out before they could face Federer. So if Fed faced them in those slams, it wouldn't be a "real test" - the real test was beating the players good enough to reach him in the draw.

Well so far he's passing.

Fed takes set 1 .....6-2.......dominant

フェデラー 08-22-2009 11:07 AM

Federer is goat then. Demolishing Murray like he should be.

FedNad316 08-22-2009 11:43 AM

The Real Champ Just PWNED the Pretender at the Real Slam.....Fed beats Murray 6-2, 7-5 and improves his H2H as well

Breaker 08-22-2009 11:54 AM

Impossible, because everyone knows all top players (especially Federer) tank Cincy every year.

Blinkism 08-22-2009 12:09 PM

If Cincy is the real slam, then Fed leads Murray 2-0 in the slam H2H :)

GasquetGOAT 08-22-2009 12:31 PM

Fed is offcially 2-0 Murray in slams.

Yes, I saw the match. Federer's BH did not impress me a whole lot.

Tomorrow he will face real opposition. He better bring his A game or Nadal is gonna show him who is the real boss.

Now this is common sense and logic.
