An those ATP's genious never realize, right?

pound cat 11-01-2009 03:08 AM

Agassi's really on a roll with those revelations...ka ching ka ching, another thousand books sold.

Stay tuned for the next revelation....

ninman 11-01-2009 03:56 AM

So who said Nadal wasn't doing roids?

Outbeyond 11-01-2009 03:58 AM

Wow, that's quite a find for this morning's news! I think Agassi's starting to cross lines here...that he may've taken speed just before a match - knowingly - is a more serious thing.

You know, it's funny, but I'm starting to wonder if all of Agassi's little revelations (there's another one out today about his fake hairpiece) are attempts to ultimately "get back" at his father.

Article from Pat Cash in the UK Times

Quote:

Suspicion among the other players had long been rife that he may have used some substances to help him become one of the fittest and strongest guys around, although there was never any proof. There were some dubious circumstances, none more than his early-morning withdrawal from the defence of his title at the 2002 Australian Open, citing a wrist injury.

Back then I remember Australian Sports Drug Agency boss John Mendoza maintaining drugs were a major issue for the sport and claiming the ATP Tour was covering up positive results. I also recall Magnus Norman, a French Open finalist, writing in a book that was only ever printed in Swedish that there were suspicions about Agassi being one of the six names that never came to light after being found to have tested positive by the ATP. Agassi had been locked away for hours with the tour hierarchy in Melbourne and a knowing look appeared on many faces in the locker room. I guess we will never know the answers to those questions, although I agree with this week’s demands that those in the ATP who know the answers owe it to the sport to finally come clean.

And you can always trust The Mail to stir the pot - After Andre Agassi how long can tennis go on covering up its drug abuse?

So now we have to ask, would Tony give young Rafa a few little magic pills before a big match?

So this whole theory about Nadal getting a positive test before Wimbledon this year doesn't sound so stupid anymore right? But of course he just had a little "knee injury" that's all.

I would not be at all surprised. Agassi is taking something you've got to assume his father is really proud of "His son the great tennis player, career grand slam, olympic gold medalist etc" and completely destroying that image. If Tennis goes down as well, even better.

They do say there's no such thing as bad publicity.

It's certainly pouring out of Nadal's veins right now.

Very interesting account from Cash that you gave us here, sottolove. Yikes, what next with Agassi?

Arailic 11-01-2009 04:32 AM

His father was a monster indeed. I actually blame the father for starting him off any pills/any kind of pills to enhance performance or improve alertness. How can somebody do something like that to his own child?????? That is child abuse in my book!!!!

HAHAHAHA, and there are posters on this board who think we live in a weak era. The second most successful player of the 90's was a drug addict - that's how bad the rest of the players were that they got beaten by someone who was on drugs. HAHAHAHA

I don't want to believe that :-?

And some of you all said Andre is doing all this revelations because of his father but can it be against the ATP? I mean for everyone to learn the truth behind scenes? Maybe he realized some cover-ups done recently and wanted to reveal it not by giving names but just telling his own cover-up expecting people to discover this ugly truth.

What this got to do with Nadal, you cretin?

Anaconda 11-01-2009 04:40 AM

I also love the fact that people are speculating that Nadal is doping. I think that he's just a freak of nature who is just naturally physically gifted.

Wow, now that's taking the latest news and heading off somewhere else altogether with it! Though I would agree your proposed version of Agassi's motivations make him look a tad bit more noble than he's been looking of late...

In the meantime, here's more reaction to his speed-before-the-match admission. The highbrows are starting to get really ****ed off now:
