My younger brother has been doing this for years as well.

He also brushes his teeth with bar soap (yes, I'm serious).

What does a heat stroke feel like? beginning and end?

What's his favorite flavor of bar soap? Just wanna know in case I run out of toothpaste one night.

Interesting stuff. :)
Can you buy this at the grocery store?

I'm not ready for the soap yet though. LOL

He told me why he does it a while ago. As I recall, he read that there is "bad" stuff in most toothpaste. I think it is the stuff that makes it taste good. He claims plain old cheap bar soap does a much better job cleaning and of course doesn't contain any of that bad stuff to make it taste good.

I think he said it took him about a week to get used to it and then it was fine.

agree about the toothpaste but wouldnt do the soap and yes cayenne is in all stores.

Best to take it in water with lemon with ice if you can and actually taste good.

OKUSA 06-20-2010 09:47 AM

what do you think makes soap stay in bar form? chemicals, probably not good to ingest

ttwarrior1 07-21-2010 12:24 AM

u can add celery seed as something good to take

Veddy interesting! Both cayenne and celery seed are also reported to reduce inflammation and provide relief from arthritis and other pain. Other anti-inflammatory spices include turmeric, ginger root, rosemary and holy basil (not to be confused with sweet basil).

never tried tumeric but always wanted too, wonder if i can get that in food forum

If I were to guess, the bad stuff would be fluoride.

Baking soda is much better for brushing your teeth and doesn't taste like much of anything.

Bar soap can harbor bacteria on the surface since it spends most of the day in varying states of moisture. The ingredients that help keep it in bar form can be very irritating and drying to skin, not sure what they do to your mouth though.

Interesting thread - cayenne pepper is indeed unique and has many applications. It can kills germs and stimulate tissue. It's also great in combat - toss some in the eyes to induce temporary blindness, or sprinkle over your escape path to confuse pursuit dogs.

I would recommend 15 packets of Morning Glory seeds...hehehehe.

Always keep in mind the five "C"s of chili: chili powder, cayenne, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon.

That's one thing, but sweetener in most toothpaste is saccharine, even after Nutrasweet came out and replaced it in most diet drinks.

So, you take a known carcinogen and rub it into your gums every night. Great!! That's one of the reasons I switched to Toms of Maine.

ttwarrior1 09-27-2010 12:12 AM

i wash out my mouth with hydrogen peroxide 2 or 3 days a week

Did he cuss a lot as a little kid so your mother washed his mouth out with soap a lot? Maybe he got used to it.
