LaserFibre ML 100 Tour Traveler

Anyone ever seen one of these LaserFibre ML 100 Tour Traveler? Is it like the Stringway ML100 or is it much smaller? HT

Someone in the classified is sell a Technifibre SP11 drop weight. Another rare stringing machine. I'm waiting for my MS200 ECO, but it's on back order. I'm wondering if I should purchase one of these used machine instead.

Go with the ECO. I have one and it's great. By the way, the ML100 is the same as the ms200tt, it's Stringway's name and also how Laserfibre used to call this machine, so it must be at least 2 years old.

Not to pick nits; but, my SP11 is not a drop weight but is a spring activated constant pull design--the spring is worthy of a car suspension! Great machine--just too big...

FaSteStSeRvE1613, do you have the floating clamps or the fixed dual clamps? I will probably only string my racquets and a couple of my friends racquets. The problems is I'm extremely picky about the tension, I usually have it strung at 65-70 bls on my Prostaff 6.0 original. What is your thought about the accuracy of the clamps?

HT 02-24-2004 10:13 PM

coachrick, do you have a digital picture of the machine that you can post on the web? I like to see it. How heavy is it? Sorry, I thought is was a drop weight.

coachrick 02-25-2004 06:33 AM

HT, no digital pictures at this time...might come up with something if I can figure out DW's camera! I'm guessing 70lbs for the machine---another 6-8lbs of mounting hardware/accessories. It looks like a Star 3 that needs a diet!

HT, my ECO has fixed clamps. I string for a lot of people so I had to get it with fixed clamps. My only experience with floating clamps was with a cheap drop weight so I cant really compare the Laserfibre clamps with those of a cheap drop weight. By the way, I love the ECO. It's so fast, accurate, and simple.

FaSteStSeRvE1613, What do you think of the Alpha Pioneer DC? It's about $200 cheaper and available right now. I tried order the Laserfibre ECO, but it was out of stock. That was over two weeks ago. Still haven't heard anything back about get new shipment. I have four racquets of my own that need restringing. I getting kind of antsy!

FaSteStSeRvE1613 02-26-2004 05:12 PM

i suggest buying a used one if you're in such a hurry, but is the alpha a drop weight? if it is, i wouldnt reccomend it. I had a dropweight machine before and hated it. The laserfibre cant be considered a drop weight since its so good. To be honest, I would wait and buy a new laserfibre.

if you have the $$$ and thinking about buying one of the two - id wait on the laserfiber as well .

HT 02-26-2004 08:25 PM

My first choice have always been the Laserfibre. I just have a few doubts which have been answered, especially from you guys who have experienced stringing with the Laserfibre. The last time I spoke with Tim Sullivan, they were out of stock. I'll give him a call tomorrow to see if they have a new shipment. Thanks,

i was in the market last week of december before the price increase . i was going to buy the MS eco with fixed clamps but it was out of stock - i then ordered the MS200TT with double action clamps so tim got my order .

it turned out it (MS200TT double action clamps)was also out of stock so i ended up getting a MS 200TT with single action clamps.
