Playboy racket

I saw an old metal racket with the playboy bunny logo on it at a second hand store today. Does anyone know anything about this racket? I googled it and got some interesting (and disturbing results) but nothing on this particular racket.

Ah yes, one of the oldest rackets in the history of mankind, aka gigalo

Probably just a stencil made by some wild & crazy guy to put on his strings. You should have checked out the actual brand of the racket.

The logo wasn't on the strings; it was on the plastic between the throat and the handle where you would expect to see the manufacturer's logo. I don't recall any other markings. The logo is the word "Playboy" with the bunny as the "o." My internet search revealed racket covers with this same logo but no actual rackets. I'll probably buy it next times I'm in the store because it it can't be more a couple of bucks. I'll post a picture when I get it.

Looks like a t1000 endorsed for playboy. Reminds me of the real playboy "Jimmy Connors" who played with a wilson t2000 metal racket and married Patti McGuire who was Playmate of the Year in 1977 ...

I had a message typed about how horrible 'those' rackets were...Tenex, Add-In, Tensor, even the Garcia X15...with their string-eating grommets and creaky handles. Fortunately, not many folks played with them enough to need restringing. Didn't want to speak ill of Playboy :) . Surprised they put their logo on such a lousy design but I'm sure the Taiwan factory was happy to oblige.

Would have been a strange racket to use during a mixed doubles match!

Looks like Patti was a year older than Jimbo...not like that mattered! Pretty girl, for sure.

Agree with you coach ... those cheapo metals were really made to self destruct. I bet playboy was just looking for a cheap racket prop for some pictures, not for any tennis action. Patti was a real winner for Jimbo. They are living happy in the Santa Barbara area, have a nice family and she works for a local TV station. Not sure how much tennis Jimmy is playing these days ?
