Tsonga's frame, mystery solved...

Hi everybody,

some months ago I posted pics of Tsonga's Aeropro in an other thread. I explained that the frame was extended. However there still was an unsolved question, was it the GT or non-GT version? I just noticed yesterday when I saw a commercial APDGT (yes I'm not really fast...) that the "GT technology" fibers (the tungsten) don't appear on my frame but on the commercial you can clearly see some kind of fibers! This part on Tsonga's frame is just plain black, no fibers! So now I assume that Tsonga's frame is a non-GT Aeropro drive +. Maybe now he's changed, but at one moment he played with the non-GT version.

Length: 69.9 cm
Weight: 346gr (strung, dampener, without overgrip)
Balance: 33.1 cm
Gripsize: #4 (4 1/2)
Silicone in handle
Syntec grip
Babolat Cutom Damp Aero (with the small plastic part containing the "balls")

One more time the pics:

I think the gt is inside the frame and whatever is on the outside is some sort of transfer.

Can wee see a close up of the Cortex system, I think he may actually use Cortex.

spoutnik12 04-27-2011 04:19 AM

Yes it's a real Cortex

you sure this is his frame haha

It is, There are no specs on inside of throat.

And it has his name.....

sixone90 04-28-2011 01:03 AM

What does the MARS on the sticker mean?

spoutnik12 04-28-2011 01:12 AM

@ your name: no overgrip, but Tsonga plays with an overgrip. I received his racquet brand new, so no overgrip was on the frame.

@sixone90: "MARS" mean "march" in french, so I think it was produced in march 2010

That's the planet Tsonga is from ;)

Seriously though, I would imagine it's date the work was done on the frame by the customizer: Mars 2010= March :)

Have you been playing with the racquet? The grip and stencil certainly show the racquet has been used.

Remind me someone... where's the lead placed/how much on his frame?

TIA

Thank you for the specs.

BTW is silicone in the handle injected only in left or right half or both?

It's french.

@ shangri La: yes, of course I have played with the racquet, I don't see the interest of keeping the frame brand new :p .Very good, the weight is perfect for me, I find the stock apdgt to be a bit too light.

@ivo: the silicone is injected only in one side of the handle (the side where "aero modular technology is written")
