Pro Kennex Ki 5...is there sand in it?

When I shake the Pro Kennex Ki 5 it sounds like there is sand in it. I also hear the same sound with the Pro Kennex Ki 5 PSE. Does anyone know what this is?

Kinetic particles that dampen frame vibration.

chippy17 02-09-2012 06:33 AM

would they also be present in the Redondo's?

I ask because mid hurling the racquet across the court last night in a match I swear I heard a similar sound

:)

That is the sound of arm protection my friend.

Can you ever get used to that sound? It feels too weird to me, but I never actually tried one for real.

It is not a loud sound, so when you are playing you can't hear it at all.

Only when you hold the frame by your ear and shake it in the quiet will you be able to hear it.

Larrysümmers 02-09-2012 04:55 PM

that 20 pse looks neat. any one try it

beeveewee 02-09-2012 05:22 PM

I for one could not get over the sound. It was like playing tennis with an African Rain Stick.

I can't hear it at all unless I bring it up to my head and intentionally shake it...then its very clear. I've never once noticed it while playing. I have the Ki5.

Is it possible you were playing "beach tennis" and dropped the racket in the sand? I can't think of any other possible reason for the sound.

No... it is not in the Redondo. BTW.. it is quite easy to read the product info posted on this site to obtain that info. It is quite clear from the product info it does not include the Redondo. All the frames that employ the Kinetic technolgy are listed in the same area.
