Is there really that much difference between the adidas Barricade Team 2 vs adidas barricade 7.0?

Just by going from the description, the inlay, midsole, and outsole are the same for each shoe. The 7.0 does have a sleeker upper.

It kind of seems that the 7.0 is just a heavier (16.5 oz vs 13.5), more durable (6-month warranty), more expensive version.

thoughts?

Barricade 7.0 is a lot more comfortable(IMO) and durable than the Team 2. Would you rather pay $80 for the Team 2 or $125 for the Barricade, which comes with the 6-month warranty. It's like a buy one get one free, who doesn't love this?

Note: TW is having a sale on the blue and orange version of the 7.0, it's only $110 now. So that's 2 $55 pairs of shoes.

Brewahahaha, "it's only $110"? Made it sounds like $100 USD isn't a lot to blow on shoes. Warranty or not, not everyone will run a hole through an outsole of a pair of shoes.

B7 is big, stiff, heavy, but well built. The BT2 is almost the opposite of that, but lacks the forefoot stability of B7.

If you value the stability of the B7, then it's a good value. The 6 month warranty comes in to play when you start burning through shoes. If you fill those two criteria, the B7 is a better buy.

thanks, I guess I'm just thinking that if the main difference is durability, I might go with the significantly lighter shoe.

Between 2 and 7, I will pick 2. It's narrower and fit better. However, it's doesn't last as long. I wish they bring back the 3, 4 and 5.

You're dealing with a different set of numbers.

"Team 2" is just a name for the cheaper version of Barricade 7 and does not correspond to the previous version of the Barricade.

aside from the durability, how does the comfort/support compare between these two shoes?

The upper on both the Barr. Team and Barr. Team 2 are soft and comfortable. Your get better support by adding a better $5-15 insole. The blue and gary m-foam insole work ok at Wally-Mart.
