How much are the Full Time Tennis Academies?

Let's say Bollettieri's IMG academy (or the other big ones) for a full time High School student?

Why don't you look on their websites for their prices?

barringer97 07-13-2012 07:15 AM

I looked on IMG's and I didn't see it. The places that I searched said "contact us." This is probably the best place to ask, I'm guessing people here would have a rough estimate.

Their 3 week summer camps are $5k though...

chalkflewup 07-13-2012 07:42 AM

I'd figure on $60K per year.

Here you go. You just have to search through their website a bit.

$68,640.

Yikes.

Agree. Not my price range either. You' ve gotta understand they also attract Sheiks', billionaires', tennis federation's kids, etc from around the world who can afford the tuition.

I guess it's similar to the big boarding schools though (Deerfield, Berwick Academy, Phillips Andover, Phillips Exeter Academy, etc.)

Epictennis 07-13-2012 08:46 AM

Hahahahah.. I remember when I wanted to do that academy.. 5 minutes ago. ( ._.)

10ismom 07-13-2012 08:53 AM

Depending on the kid's goal. For my children, I'd rather save that kind of money for the top colleges they'll go.

barringer97 07-13-2012 09:35 AM

^Yeah, the money thing doesn't "pencil out" when you spend $70k to get a full ride that saves you $50k.

I'm out of the loop, what do you hear are the better camps?

10ismom 07-13-2012 11:14 AM

^^^We like Evert a lot. An acquaintance once told me she liked Bollettieri for her daughter. The old thread below, you will find several people recommended Nick Saviano, Solomon, Rick Macci, and many others.
I also saw an ad on Tennis Channel that Sanchez-Casal academy is now in Naples.

Hope this is helpful.
Chalk might have more insight about academies in FL.

Thank you!

For that money you can hire Robert Lansdorp or Elliott Teltscher :)

If you want a great deal and you're looking for fun, lots of good hits, check out Bill Clark Tennis Academy. He has a summer program and always has a lot of kids. He's sent tons of players on to college. He's in Cooper City about 30 minutes South of Evert.

I saw several "from Spain to Naples" ads during last week Wimbledon.......unless I remembered the name wrong.

Before you send your kid to a tennis academy, just ask yourself, why? Why does your tennis player need a tennis academy?
Read this article please. It is about how to choose a right tennis academy for a player.
