He says he's not playing TORONTO this year. Next year it is held in Montreal. Hence he will be back at Toronto in 2014.

Also he's only talking about the canada masters, not the whole tennis calendar

He won't be playing Toronto this year; Next year Rogers Cup is in Montreal, so he can't play it in Toronto until 2014.

It all depends on Wimbledon 2014. If he loses early, he would withdraw from Toronta 2014.

So the real winner is Cincinnati as it will always have the Canadian buffer for Rafa.

Rafa knows that 2013 is his year, why would he take it off? There's a very strong chance he'll bounce back 2010 style. Rafael Nadal performs best when he's the underdog.

Who was it that said it would be more logical for him to skip Cincinnati, because it's better to play a tournament in Canada?

Taking a year off from what ? His age? Is he gonna be listed as 24 or 25 on the ATP site now? Will that make his niece younger ?

after the beating he took from Rosol he should take two years off

maybe he will drop in rankings and focus on slams and be a nightmare 1st/2nd round for someone next year
