Centre Court Looking Good?

If you're a tattie farmer:shock:

Centre Court NOT looking good, won't win Wimbledon.

tennis_pro 08-13-2012 05:11 AM

Is this new clay or something?

Biscuitmcgriddleson 08-13-2012 05:20 AM

This is the most damaging piece of evidence to surface for people that deny the homogenization of surfaces. That grass court looks not to grassy to me

Would be interesting to see how it plays though.

Sabratha 08-13-2012 05:21 AM

Looks like eventually everything will just become clay.

6-1 6-3 6-0 08-13-2012 05:26 AM

I wonder how that court plays.

Devilito 08-13-2012 05:33 AM

is there anything they won't do for Nadal?

smoledman 08-13-2012 07:55 AM

Brings a new meaning to "dirt" surface.

There's an even better photo of this, that makes Centre Court look like it hasn't got a roof in 2012 - when really, the whole roof structure just gets pushed to the northern part of the court as shown above.

Thanks for the pic. But WTF is a 'tattie'? I remember one of your fellow Brits trying to tell us Americans we use too much slang. *rollseyes*

I'm pretty sure it's a potato.

JustBob 08-13-2012 02:56 PM

Meh..., just spray paint it blue and it will be fine. :)

That would have been my guess. But the Brits denial of using a ton of slang stands. I've been traveling to Asia a lot and hear 'English is hard to learn' - upon further investigation, they're trying to learn from 'English English'.

rovex 08-13-2012 03:27 PM

I think in Britain slang varies widely depending on location. Scotland namely has many terminologies for things that would never be used in England and Wales and this is true of the other way around.

smoledman 08-13-2012 04:40 PM

Stop this grass court nonsense. Grass is for cows.

It's easier for me to Understand American Slangs,as I have learned tons from watching hollywood movies,lol.. .I am not much familiar with British slangs, partly due to the fact that I raraely talk in english in my real life and I have never ever seen British movies..:)

It wasn't slang - it was Scots.

And you were right - tattie = potato

Sabratha 08-14-2012 07:44 AM

British slang is similar to Australian slang, so it's easy for me to follow.
