Do older Head rackets have palats?

Need to make the grip smaller.

How old is old?

I have had mixed results. Some pallets on old Heads aren't quite removable.
Others are. It depends on what racket you are talking about.

I have never removed a pallet off. How do I do it?

They are usually glued on to the frame. You have to warm them up to melt the glue. This can be done with a heat gun, blow dryer or hot water. Then you have to pry them off. They are very delicate so it is a bit of an operation. Some come off easily, some are a total b!tch. You won't know which until you get into it.

Thanks everyone.

Regarding that video: ping pong table not required, big sharp knife not required, blow dryer not required.

Pallets warp very easily if the heat is excessive. Try hot water first to soften the glue.

Also, it is a big mistake to start at the tapered end as opposed the the bottom of the pallet as it is much more fragile.

FYI...

The pallets are NEVER glued to the hairpins. Head uses double sided tape to adhere the pallet to the frame hairpin.

Thank you for all the help

Switching pallets

Is it possible/feasible to switch pallets of a MG Prestige Mid (4 5/8) and an IG Prestige MP (4 1/8)?

I believe so yes, just from personal experience. I've switched from a few different Radicals with solid success.
