Dimitrov gets closer to Fed-class everyday...

Remind you of anyone? (hint: watch first vid's point and second vid's point back to back)

I'm not saying he'll win 17+ slams, but the talent is undeniable.

Only tiny difference is Fed won that match and Dimitrov choked it away.

smoledman 10-03-2012 01:28 PM

He's like a low-rent Federer.

jokinla 10-03-2012 01:32 PM

He just lost to Monaco 2,1, not sure how that makes him closer to Fed.

What a Video! Feds inside out forehand at 5:59 was just Amazing! Made David Ferrer's inside outter look like a joke.

Fed's backhand was a weapon back in then. Everything he touched in 2006 was gold.

AnotherTennisProdigy 10-03-2012 02:27 PM

He even has the bandana now....

Zarfot Z 10-03-2012 03:33 PM

Dimitrov's forehand doesn't have that whippy motion Federer does.

A part from that, their playing styles are pretty darn close.

DolgoSantoro 10-03-2012 03:35 PM

Didn't dimitrov get crushed by Monaco a couple days ago?

Dimitrov has Nike gear, the same service motion and similar backhand. But other then that, all I see is a choker.

Dimitrov doesn't know how to solve pushers yet.

Alexandros 10-03-2012 03:42 PM

Lots of potential but the biggest difference is in their footwork. Dimitrov slips and slides unusually often for a top player, which is in sharp contrast to Federer's near perfect balance.

Carsomyr 10-03-2012 03:47 PM

Dimitrov better start figuring it out more consistently soon; he's nearing 22 without even sniffing top ten status.

tennisfan2010 10-03-2012 04:38 PM

^ He hasn't even made it inside the top 50 yet...

It has the remnants of his obvious early effort to mimic Federer but is not even in the same ball-park in terms of go-to-ness

jaggy 10-03-2012 05:11 PM

He will never be a Donald Young

Cool, and that means? A lot of guys are reaching their potential from 24-27 now.. It's way to early to judge him.

Teen Fed vs. Baby Fed! What a match!

There's a pretty big disparity in racquet-head speed between the two as well. Federer's always had some of the fastest on tour, Dimitrov not so much.
