Well, considering there's an almost infinite number of bands that are worse than REM and RHCP.....how about "neither"?

I think what has happened here is that our man can't spell anything, and is thus left with band names that are acronyms.

no excuse for not plumping for NKOTB, really, but a good enough reason to avoid Nickelback (certainly a contender) and the excruciatingly horrible 'Eddy Current Suppression Ring'

RHCP's are awesome... Why wouldn't you like them?

Love REM. We've got practically all of their albums around the house. I'm not too fond of the peppers though. They just don't have a sound that I find very appealing.

Too many to name. It's much easier to name the two most over-rated bands of all time: The nearly unlistenable R.E.M., and the unlistenable Red Hot Chili Peppers.

so you would genuinely suggest that Nickelback or Creed are actually NOT contenders for worst bands of all time?

and can you honestly listen to the opening verses of 'Under the Bridge' or 'The One I love' (just examples) and declare them 'unlistenable'?
