just FYI - interesting match for DB
http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/...inglesDraw.pdf
playing Saba from Duke in the opener down in FL - if he takes down Saba i'd be willing to pretty much agree with dad that ALL college coaches would be interested in him at this point - Saba is a fighter and won't be handing the match away just because it's an unimportant fall tourney - he doesn't like to lose, period so we'll see - i'm definitely interested in the result - i'd put heavy money on Saba |
found the score finally via FSU twitter
https://twitter.com/FSU_MTennis Saba wins 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 similar scoreline to DB vs Redlicki at the zoo...DB puts a nice set together but not competitive in the 3rd ronnie schneider with a nice straight sets win for USTA, not too surprising, he may go to war with Mengel also |

DB losing to Saba in three is just about right. Interesting that DB is beginning to be more included in the USTA events. I guess the tension between the parties is gone. |

all four duke guys in the main draw make the quarters - mengel and tahir winning all their sets, redlicki and saba showing they can win back to back third sets comfortably - i'll take it |

I rarely think line calls can effect a match but this was ridiculous ! |

The defensiveness and insecurity of the coach is coming thru loud and clear. For the sake of DB's future prospects and success, I hope he can start working with other coaches.

He was raised to play fair so when he sees a kid that's at a D1 school like Duke I think he was expecting integrity but that wasn't to be found and his responce to it was immature . |

#1 coach,
If you get a chance, watch this guy, Jerzey Janowicz, 6ft 8 playing in semi against Simon now on Tennis Channel ATP masters 1000 Paris indoor. Big serves, often over 200km/h but with great touch, disguised drop shots, all court play ...great athlete, great game in addition to his power. He is 21, ATP ranked 60+, came into this Masters 1000 via qualifying and beat Andy Murray, Tipsarovic in prior rounds. Maybe something you and DB can look at. I've never seen him before but thinking this 6ft 8 guy is more athletic than Raonic, Isner, Querry, Del Pot. Take a look. |

team is led by one of stan smith's sons - both of whom won sportsmanship award at the zoo during their junior career - that probably gives you a better idea of the way those guys compete than the way a former student posts on the internet :) ps assistant coach stokke also won the award in 2002 don't be fooled by a blowhard dad who takes cheap shots at guys half his age every time his son fails to produce the goods |

I like the "cheap shot " statement but I was very clear at telling Saba what a pus#%y he was and of course he did nothing , just like I expected. But to cheat on a court where you know you are safe and then have to man up when and old man says something to you and you just look at the ground every time he passed me just showed me whAt he was made of ! |

confusing things with your son's future? or just lashing out since there are now two duke tennis players that own your son (redlicki / saba) and three if the younger redlicki joins the team in the near future? |
