Djokovic says his 2012 was better than 2011. I disagree
Maybe he is just happy about winning the WTF and still very emotional about the season, but I cant' agree with the fact that 2012 was better than 2011 for Djokovic as he said.

He just missed the last 3 months because of an injury. In 2011 he was the best player, but not by far. I think 2011 was a better year for him |
No doubt his 2011 was better. People put too much stock in what the players say about themselves. They are always trying to be positive, but he still had a great year.

Djoker had an awesome year and could have very well won 2-3 slams this year. Almost a fluke it didn't happen really. Nadal regained his dominance over Djoker at clay, and Murray finally woke up.

Djoker last year blows this Djoker out of the water.. Not sure what the heck Djoker is talking about here.
He looked much better at the AO last year, looked worse at the French actually, Looked MUCH better at wimbledon ( of course I'm sure the roof had something to do with that), and looked way better the USO last year. 3 of the slams last year Nole's level was much higher then this year. He had a great year this year but last year he was a complete wrecking machine (especially the first half of last year). I didn't think he looked all that great until towards the end of this year really His movement, his Backhand, his FH was better and he was painting the lines on his shots |

Considering no one is in a position to disagree with the man himself, I believe he is not referring to outright results. What would be more satisfying, come out and having a blazing year while everyone claims it's due to drugs or altitude chambers, or coming back and showing everyone you are far from a fluke?

2012 was better yes in terms of money , he could have gained a lots of sponsors from his success from '11.

2012 certainly had a lot more pressure than 2011.
2011 was a kind of a dream run for him. 2012 was hard working, pressure packed, and he put up really good results. Maybe that's where he's coming from. |

He's saying that because last year was not Novak it was cvac.
This year Novak is playing and its the best year he's ever had. |
He didn't drop off so drastically this year after the U.S Open. He had a complete season.
2012 was a ridiculous 9 months + a crappy 2.5 months thereafter. In terms of results though, 2011 was better. |

It depends on your angle. In terms of titles won and domination of the competition, 2011 was better. In terms of consistency throughout the year, 2012 was more satisfying (in 2011, Djoko didn't last through the entire season and basically couldn't play at all after USO). Also Djoko made his first RG final in 2012. I'm sure that meant a lot to him. + he finished the year on a triumphant note, which is always a +

We all know what Djoker said here was ridiculous, but 2012 was a great backup year, and it was much better post USO. Djoker's peak level in 2011 was insane, but he was more consistent this year, he just didn't win everything in sight.

While he ran out of gas after winning the 2011 USO and had nothing left in the tank for the end of year, this time round he paced himself much better, not busting a gut trying to win everything in sight, but winning just enough to keep his nose ahead of the game and thus had plenty of energy left for the WTF. As a result, this time round he won both the first big tournament of the season (the AO) and the last (WTF). I think this may be why he looks on 2012 with a bit more satisfaction even than 2011! |
