Czech Republic could become first country to win Hopman, Fed, and Davis Cup?

Just realized that Czech Republic has won the Hopman and Fed cup this year, so if they win the Davis Cup they'll be the first team in history to win all thee in a calendar year, right?

Pretty cool. We need a name for this achievement.

Davis? doesn't really looks like it..

ollinger 11-17-2012 07:05 AM

this was going to be McEnroeisanartist's next question: "What countries have won the Hopman, Fed and Davis Cups in the same year AND less than a quarter century after freeing themselves from the grip of the Soviet Union?"

Amazing achivement for such a small country.

Llendl looked very pleased.

^^TV coverage here switched to NFL straight after match point. I was looking for Lendl during the match and couldn't see him. Only Kodes, Santana and Novotna. :-(

...and very lucky as well. No Djokovic when they played Serbia, DelPo only played one match in their tie with Argentina and no Nadal in the finals. Ferrer was amazing though, I respect the guy more and more each time I see him play.

No links just tweets; probably a bit of confetti caught his eye. If I come across anything; I will let you know :-D

I found an article which says as much.

If it's true, this is earth-shattering stuff. I'm talking like Mayan prophecies or something. I'm scared to go outside.

Lendl sheding tears? As Victor Meldrew was known to say, I don't believe it!

Sid_Vicious 11-18-2012 01:16 PM

Not surprising.

Lendl was never the hardass he acts like he is.

Yup, Radek pulled the greatest match of his life out of his *** yesterday. I was cheering for Spain however.

adil1972 11-19-2012 12:56 AM

is it true that lendl and connors were disliked by their peers

tennis_balla 11-19-2012 01:06 AM

Lendl didn't have many fans when he played, players included.
