Volkyl cyclone (16ga)
I have been using this string for a month now (I just recently bought my own stringer too btw). The guy that used to string my raquets is a master stringer and knows a lot about strings and won't even give this 7.99 per pack string a peek. Is it possible that its every bit as good as the RPM Blast I paid 17.00 for for the last few years. Seems like this volkyl has great pop and good control as well.

Here's the key: if you like it, that's all that matters. ;-) Master stringer/all-world stringer, string master of the universe - doesn't matter. No one can dictate what feels good to you, what feels right for your game.

I use the 17, love the stuff, ppl are very locked in to their habits in the tennis world.

I love it too. Great pop. I'm a 4.5 baseliner and this string suits me great. I'm going to stick w it for awhile, thanks

People seem to think that you have to pay big bucks price for quality. Granted Cyclone has it's pros and cons but I thought it was a nice string for the price.

We use it on and off,,,great string.

About a year ago, amid a lot of string tests, I only played this once and IIRC I found it a bit too soft and springy/mushy. (Maybe it was strung too low or had been in there too long?)
Anyhow, I just want to hear more about this string - pluses and minuses, from those who are more familiar with it. Also wondering how it matches up to Black Code, BHBR, and MSV. Just wondering if it's worth taking another, more in-depth look at this one. |
