Dunlop Biomimetic Lite - Adding Lead Tape

Hi Troy

In your review, you mentioned that you would add some lead tape to the hoop. Where would you put it ? 9 N 3 , 10 N 2, 12 ?

Thanks

CCH4TENNIS,

After our review of this racquet, I customized one of our test racquets by adding seven inch strips of 1/4" lead tape. I used 9 & 3 o'clock on the hoop, as the center point for these four strips. I also counter balanced this weight by placing 1/2" lead strips on the pallet, underneath the grip. I don't clearly remember how much lead I put on the pallet, but I do know that it was more than I added to the hoop. The final spec came out to be: 12.3 oz, 330 SW, and 7 pts. HL. It played extremely solid with tons of plow through. I liked it enough that I could easily transition into this stick; but for now I still prefer my customized Microgel Radical. I hope this info is useful.

Hi Tony

TQVM for the response.

I added 6.5 inch of 1/4inch LT to 9 N 3 (total of 6.5g) and 3g (behind buttcap), 13.5g inside the butt cap plus a replacement Lether grip (+8g) and my final specs was 356g , 11.1pt Hl and 321.4 SW.

How did you get it up from the Bio 200Lite 308SW to 330SW ?

Thank you

CCH4TENNIS,

Troy's answer was in regards to the Dunlop F 3.0 Tour. Troy did not playtest the Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Lite. Sorry for any confusion. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi Brittany

Yes, you are right... Troy did not playtest the Bio 200Lite, it was Jason who said "Dislikes

Jason - "It lacked a bit of weight in the hoop."

Perhaps you can request Jason if he can give me his opinion as to where to lead up the Bio 200 Lite

Thank you

It seemed just slightly torsionaly unstable so I'd either put the lead at 3 and 9 o'clock or 10 and 2 o'clock. It just a matter of preference. For me, I'd put it at 10 and 2. I tend to hit my shots toward the tip so by adding the weight closer to the tip, it moves the sweetspot higher up as well.

Hi Jason

TQVM for responding. BTW, how much lead tape did you add to the Bio 200Lite ?

Thanks

Since you're adding weight toward the tip, a little bit goes a long way. I only used about 4-6 grams of lead.

I got it to 11.7 ounces strung with a balance of 5 points head light and a swingweight of 319.
