Do you remember of Thomas Muster's setup ?
 

I'm still a big fan of Thomas Muster. I know he has played most of time with Head Prestige but do you remember of its lead tape position, specs, strings, ... ?

i dont know about lead tape but i think it was 14oz racquet with built up grip at end handle strung at upto 80lbs

Accumulated specs from this and another forum. Seems legit to me and they are at least close, but I wouldn't bet my life on every single detail:

Head Pro Tour 630
372 g (unstrung)
32.8 cm balance (unstrung)
Custom stiffness of 68
Grip size 6 with a build up at the buttcap
Isospeed Professional at around 40 kgs

quite a monster of a bludgeon that, takes one heck of a swing and footwork to muster that mass and bulk.

As far as I know his Head Pro Tour was always standard length. When he did in fact switch to the Kneissl Tom's Reach Machine it was extended in order to give more power to his hardcourt game. While he did have some succes with that, he felt that the extra length hurt his claycourt game. There's a good chance that some of the time he played with a Head Pro Tour PJ'eyed as the Kneissl, but to my knowledge he did also use the real Kneissl at one point.

I think those specs came off the Muster racquet below that was for sale at stringforum. Unfortunately I didn't save the other two images. I think one had the the sticker with the specs on it. I remember reading the buttcap being built up with tape (which you can see below) and his racquets were gripped for a right hander and left the top of the pallet exposed. One of these days I will get an actual Muster racquet.

Yes, you are right, some of the specs are from there. :) Never actually saw the picture of the racquet though. Can you (or anyone else for that matter) verify that it is a PT630 paintjob...or did he actually use the i.Prestige after retirement?

I just assumed after his Kneissl days any Head racquet he used was a PT 630 paint job of the current Head Prestige models. Of course my boss is always reminding me what happens when I assume things.

I went to an exhibition of old players (Ivanisevic, Muster, Squillari, Puerta, Cash & Vilas) this year and I saw a Muster's Actual Racket.

Nice picture! To me that looks like a PT630 mold in disguise, but I could be wrong.

Great photo , reminds a bit of when me and my buddies pose with Bonito or Barracuda when aftre our Hemingway outings. The racket looks a PT57a in drag.

when Muster played in Vienna last october, i overheard a conversation he had with his hitting partner. Head had given him new youtek mp to try out, and he also had a few others in his bag which according to him played softer. they had the youtek paintjob but where obviously something else underneath. pt57a probably

I didn't realise his frame had such a high stiffness rating. The man must have had a bionic arm to play day in and day out with something that heavy at RA 68 and such a tight string set up.
