Instinct, Steam 99s, PS 100: would strings matter here?

So I've been demoing racquets lately, and I've come down to a few racquets:

Head Instinct Graphene (beat out the IG instinct): Fxp and sonic pro
Wilson Steam 99S: luxilon 4g
Wilson ProStaff 100: sensation 16 and spin cycle blue (I think)

My demo guy won't let me restring the Wilsons to FXP 16 & sonic pro 16, which is my favorite string combo. What should I do? Will restringing them change anything at all?

zapvor 12-05-2012 06:57 PM

uh yea! oh but you are new here. welcome

Update

UPDATE: I have narrowed my decision down to the graphene instinct and steam 99s. Gotta get that spin for my lefty game :) sayonara ProStaff 100

zapvor 12-07-2012 12:52 PM

so what do you need more? graphene? or steam?

thecrusher956 12-07-2012 01:18 PM

Lefty spin on a steam...sounds deadly

racertempo 12-07-2012 01:34 PM

I love the Wilson Spin Cycle String, it is my favorite but where can you buy the blue? My local shop even has it but he will not sell it and his price includes stringing, so it is $30 or so. Any idea where I can get the color?

TennisPo 12-07-2012 04:19 PM

Well, racertempo, I don't really know how to help you, but a quick google search would help. I saw the blue on amazon.com

TennisPo 12-07-2012 04:19 PM

By the way, graphene or steam, doesn't matter much to me :) :)

zapvor 12-07-2012 08:05 PM

good answer

MikeHitsHard93 12-07-2012 09:28 PM

Just think, with the new graphene rackets you can hit the g spot every time...

TennisPo 12-08-2012 06:22 AM

G Spot hahaha

thecrusher956 12-08-2012 06:57 AM

Are the new graphenes any good? Is there a 98 sq inch for any of the new ones?

TennisPo 12-09-2012 08:02 AM

Yeah, the graphenes are different from the old models of the speed and instinct, they feel very hollow, the speed lacks power now from its new shape, and the new instinct is a little different, I think it's stiffer, and the balls I hit were much cleaner. I'm not sure about 98 on the speed (could be), but I believe the instinct is 98.

Update

So i tried the new AeroPro Drive today.... not bad, but for some reason, my balls kept on dropping into the net. Why is this? I went to the instinct, and the instinct was hitting nice, bouncy topspin... :-|

Is the new Instinct heavier, or at least does it have a higher swing weight than the current model?

thecrusher956 12-15-2012 06:04 AM

Anyone have specs on new speed and instinct? Only going to look into it if it is around 12 oz.

TennisPo 12-15-2012 08:02 AM

Sorry, don't have any knowledge of the specs at the moment.

thecrusher956 12-15-2012 12:42 PM

So Speed and Instincts are going down to 98?

Francis27 12-15-2012 01:06 PM

I would go for the Steam 99S

The instinct is in the tweeter category and will never be 12 oz, unless they break precedent and make an Instinct Pro at 12 oz.
