Which brands of tennis racquets do you DISLIKE

I'm just curious, I've never liked Wilson racquets. Even the ones with my specs I have never liked. I'm wondering if anyone else has aversions to certain brands of racquet, and if so, which?

db10s 12-08-2012 04:27 PM

I can only pick one? :(

PhotoBlue 12-08-2012 04:37 PM

Prince. A lot of their racquets are cheap feeling and not solid at all.

rafafan20 12-08-2012 04:41 PM

Realized I should have made it multiple selection after created, but I guess just choose 1 you would never buy. As Prince currently stands I'd never buy a racquet although I loved their old racquets.

Fyrepower 12-08-2012 04:42 PM

^^ ditto. i have never found a prince racquet I liked.

rafafan20 12-08-2012 04:48 PM

I thought Babolat would crush the competition, we'll see.

One of my regular hitting partners always accuses me of hating the "popular" brands. Guess which one I voted for...

rafafan20 12-08-2012 07:26 PM

Why the dislike of Donnay? Never used or even played against someone using one.

3fees 12-08-2012 07:32 PM

any racquet that hinders me hitting winners.

Babolat is going to win this in a landslide, and I am a Babolat user.

cluckcluck 12-08-2012 07:51 PM

Prince and Babolat.

Though I lean more towards disliking the Babs. They're inconsistent, two of the same models with same string and tension will play completely different from another.

I don't like Prince because they feel like they're going to bust when you hit with any power.

What I hate is the fact that the bigger the brand, the worse the quality of the frames are. Head and Wilson quality control is a joke. I had my old extremes weighted and matched, when they weighed them, there was over a 10g difference in the rackets! I worked in a top UK racket store for 4 years, Wilson and Head were the most common rackets that were returned. Luckily my 6.1 95s were 1g apart lol.

Free courts hogs tend to play with Babolats.
The nicest players are Yonex and Dunlops users

Until about 7 months ago, I would have said Babolat. Never swung one I liked, until the new Pure Drive, which I now play with. So, with them being out, it's probably Wilson (haven't played with one since the late 90's) and Prince (have never owned one).

Babs is going to win for sure based purely on the number of Roger fans/Nadal haters.

I don't dislike any brand as every brand that I've tried offers something I can play with and like.

Marcus2137 12-08-2012 11:19 PM

I voted but wish I could choose a couple.

I have a hard time finding Wilsons that feel good to me, but I like some of the Pro Staffs a lot. But overall, I'm not a Wilson fan.

I also wish I could choose Babolat. Haven't ever used a Babolat I enjoyed. The PD 2012 isn't bad but still wouldn't be my choice.

I agree with many about a lot of Prince. I like some of the older ones (which I have), but don't like the feel of the newer ones.

Besides those, I think there are many good choices today and it's hard to go wrong with most of these brands.

I voted for Prince mainly because they went to the 'holes' in their racquets instead of normal grommets. As an ex-stringer I would find it a pain in the rear to have to use a special tool to string a racquet.

It's probably more your crap technique when hitting a tennis ball... ;D

This is precisely why I have strayed away from prince. I'm going to start stringing soon and I don't want to have to worry about the ports. I also don't like how they whistle.

I'm only hooked on Prince because I'm lucky I own 6 POG Longbodies (the best of all worlds---a POG with a 100 sq in head). If I didn't, I'd probably go with the EX03 White. But yep, otherwise, these recent Prince sticks are pretty dumb.
I like Head racquets alittle, but not their rectangular grip shape.
Babolat? Only their discontinued Pure Control, not the current Pure Storms.
