Pictures of all Different Pure drive generations.

Someone have pictures of the complete collection of different generation of Pure Drive? How many different paintjob have been produced? Thanks.

cluckcluck 12-14-2012 11:46 AM

I don't have the pictures, but I believe they're on the 6th paint job of the Pure Drive.

I've seen them posted on these boards before...do a search...maybe under "racquets"?

I used to own the top most version in that pic (the one before cortex, i think it was the pure drive team line). in the youtube clip, they have the swirly version. were there any more or only just 5 different releases?

darklore009 12-15-2012 01:33 PM

yeah, notice that the non cortex and gt has a longer shaft than any of them

-Classic Lite (not sure if this counts as a PD, but it is blue)
-PD swirly
-PD block
-130 yr anniversary
-PD cortex
-PD 2009
-135 yr anniversary
-PD 2012

To Daniel or anybody else, do you know how many versions of 27.5" Pure Drives there are?

I've read the thread in the Classic Racquets section and elsewhere, and gathered some conflicting info... One example was that somebody claimed there was no first-generation extended-length racquet, and others saying there were.

I'm stuck at 5 generations, and would like to know so I can complete my collection:

- PD Swirly +
- PD Team +
- PD Cortex + (also the first Roddick model introduced)
- PD GT + (2nd-gen Roddick)
- PD GT + 2012 (3rd-gen Roddick)

Thanks in advance!

There was also a 125th year Anniversary Edition from what I have ran across in the past. I believe beside the first two Anniversary Editions, the "Test Cordage" racquets are among the rarest, which I have tucked away!

Thanks Daniel for the photos! Great collection, i have the same collection project but i'm at the beginning. I have one pure drive first generation in 9/10 condition and I actually play with pure drive 2012.

So does the newest one have an 'inverted' cortex? I wonder how that changes the dynamics of the air flow over the laminar construction ;)

Haha. Yes... It causes the racket the shake like a leaf due to the uneven air flow. They're fixing it in the next gen. lol

Good to hear, I guess they'll install spoilers over the surface of the frame to interrupt air flow at critical times.

Can you please post another pic of the classic lite? I've never seen this. On your tumbler photo it seems different to the gen one pure drives (the 280 and 300gr) Many thanks :)
