I'm no expert. But seems like a way to build strength with fast explosive movement. Sound like it can contribute to tennis, but again I'm no expert. And like any weight lifting exercise, improper form can lead to injury. Don't Olympic athletes do this one..?

Don't even THINK about playing tennis until you can power clean 2.5x your bodyweight.

Even if i could powerclean that much I wouldn't the pain the next day would be unbearable and ubiquitous. I like powercleans as a general exercise but I think that dynamic kettlebell work serves the same function in a tennis training regimine.

I like power cleans, but it is a very technical lift. If you can get proper instruction, I think it is very good for building the muscles involved in quick starts and jumping.

IMO, high pulls can give much of the benefit without being as technically demanding. You still need to work out in a place that won't be upset by someone doing Olympic lifts. It is best to work with the padded weights and a floor designed for dropping weights from a height without them bouncing. You can always do this on dirt, but it will tend to get your weight set dirty.
