Donald Young doing another racquet switch?

A friend of mine, who is a hitting partner to many players, just posted this on Facebook.

Looks like DY is has a blacked out Babolat or a Solinco frame (looking at the overgrip tape)?

Crisp 12-27-2012 01:40 PM

I enjoy following the trials and tribulations of DY

airdupont 12-27-2012 01:40 PM

Or a blacked out Formula Pro?

He's getting desperate.

Florico 12-27-2012 01:53 PM

under is finger we can see an orange logo, maybee head graphene logo? black out racquet with orange logo ...

gregor.b 12-27-2012 01:53 PM

Maybe this is the racquet that will magically make him put in more effort and stop trying to win points in 2 strokes all the time.

Lol. He must be a poster on these boards.

dodgers 12-27-2012 02:00 PM

I see the Solinco over grip and the head of the racquet has the typical Solinco NiMesh finish on the sides. It may be a new Solinco racquet.......... :)

Strangely enough so do I. Maybe its because if he falls far enough in the rankings he might end up at one of our local courts looking for a hit. :???:

T21D 12-27-2012 02:34 PM

The fact that the swoosh kept him is also a surprise while Deplo/Tomas supposedly got cut!

JDMasFCK 12-27-2012 06:55 PM

May be a new Solinco racquet :O

mbm0912 12-27-2012 06:58 PM

I'd say he needs a career switch...

Bit much. The kid just needs a real coach and a kick up the *****.

Also, it has a 16x19 string pattern. What was he currently using?

canny 12-27-2012 09:48 PM

He needs a real coach. He definitely has the potential. But that looks like that new head racquet that head hasnt released yet. let me find the vid.

edit: second thought maybe not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkFhaYDenZM

edit: third thought that actually looks like the new 2013 Head PWR Prestige 16x19 too

last thing i saw him with kinda looked like a prince

cluckcluck 12-27-2012 10:14 PM

The grommets don't look anything like the traditional head grommet.

mlocke1322 12-27-2012 11:57 PM

That looks an awful lot like the rarely seen in public Solinco Tour series frame. Has the matte black finish and what looks like their ni-mesh on the hoop. It's also the correct 16x19 pattern for the Tour series

Lefty78 12-28-2012 06:27 AM

Grommets look like Prince to me

Probably not going back to Head. But thanks for sharing the video - 11 Jan now marked on my calendar. Anyone know where that was filmed? Austria? I liked the covered clay courts - that looks like a fun place to hit.

PS - Donald's morbidly obese mom practically invented tennis! Her 'pizza after practice' nutritional advice is a breakthrough in sports fitness. If she can't get him into the Top 10, nobody can. (Note: the previous 3 sentences may contain large doses of sarcasm).

What a comedy... C'mon man!
