Nadal practicing on clay this morning

Eurosport commentator said pictures have emerged of Nadal practicing on clay this morning. When will Nadal play his next hardcourt tournament?

Rock Strongo 12-31-2012 03:53 AM

I take that as he'll skip the first months of hardcourt play citing yet another injury.

I honestly didnt think he'd have the stones to skip the winter HC season, but I guess I was wrong.

I'll be shocked now if he plays rotterdamn, IW or Miami

There's NO way he'll play Rotterdam because Federer's playing there, and it's indoors.

I personally think he'll play Acapulco, then skip straight to Monte Carlo and Barcelona. Not playing in IW and Miami resulting him dropping further down the rankings and messing up the draws.

Oh Nadal would never show up on a surface that favored Federer. They are more likely to play each other 3 times on clay this year than once on hard courts.

Whatever his issue, let's dignify the individuals on tour who will be competing. It's good to have another season underway.

To be honest, I don't even think he'll play Acapulco. Or he'll go there, tank the first round and then say "my knee feels a bit bad, but thanks for the appearance money!"

I think Nadal will definitely play Acapulco, he needs *something* to test his knee, what's better than a 500 clay event? Now if he can't sustain the knee on clay that's when the REAL problem starts. If he has to withdraw and retire in the middle of Acapulco, I can bet safely that he will hide again until the French Open.

Photos from today.

These really from today? Um isn't he supposed to be out with a virus? Still pre AO tournaments to be played... i guess he really doesn't want to play on hard court...

Tennis_Hands 12-31-2012 05:11 AM

Stomach virus?

AHAHAHAHAHAHA

If these are from today.....

Yep, it's called hardcourtfraidyitis. And it's very, very nasty. ;)

Well, he's obviously testing his knee right now it seems. Right now it only feels like he's making excuses not to play any hardcourt tournaments and just head for the clay and then disappear again after Wimbledon. He said himself that the knee was fine, maybe he's just hiding the true fact behind a "stomach virus"?

The_Order 12-31-2012 05:19 AM

yeah he's so afraid of hard courts he's only won both the AO and USO and got to the final of them both on another occasion...

Nadal reduced to hitting with arm-less opponents. Tough times:)

Yawn. More nonsense from a ****. There's a very simple fact here:

Rawful *******'s body can't handle HCs anymore.

Homeboy Hotel 12-31-2012 05:47 AM

Stomach virus, what bull shine hahaha

That's IW and Miami crossed off too.

DRII 12-31-2012 05:51 AM

more demented pathology on display...

Hood_Man 12-31-2012 06:09 AM

They don't give an indication of how hard he's practising though.

If he's only having a light hit to try and stay sharp during his downtime then he won't be pushing his body too hard.

It's not like he can't walk anymore.

Hitman 12-31-2012 06:09 AM

He will be back....
