Please HELP: Is this a pro staff classic 95 with a Tour 95 paint job?

I attempted to buy a matching Pro Staff Tour 95 to use as my back up. I bought one on the Bay and when i received it realized it felt different. the frame was not rounded on the edges at all, rather it had sharp edges (box beam ??) In general it felt stiffer, less user friendly.

Other small differences i noticed were in the paint job. it was missing the silver script 'Wilson' on the throat. Instead it has a 'double braid' logo in its place.

I originally assumed its just a different model year but when i started researching it (and was directed to this forum a lot) i saw that in '04 wilson made some classic PS 95's with tour paint jobs.

Is there someone on here who can look at some photos and verify what the heck i bought?

Thanks in advance ... I don't know how to attach photos but i can easily email them around if need be.

That is the racquet I am referring to exactly. I came across that link on these forums actually, I am working on posting some pics of my wand now ...

And yes this model has a "box beam".

Nice...consider yourself lucky:)

It's actually the Pro Staff 6.0 Original 95 with a Pro Staff Tour 95 cosmetic NOT Pro Staff Classic 95

seen any for sale on here? I dont see anything on the auction site

Hannah19 01-02-2013 02:48 PM

It seems that these were pretty rare items.
As TPOC mentioned, consider yourself very lucky since these are amongst some of the more desirable rackets around.
Many "original" rackets with different paint jobs are more wanted.

The Pro Staff 6.0 Original 95 is one of my favorite racquet and Pro Staff Tour 95 is one of the best looking racquet imo...again consider yourself lucky :)

Here we go

That looks like a stock Pro Staff Tour 90 or 95. Very nice box-beam frame, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The 6.1 Classic is the thin-beam you may be thinking of. That's a different frame altogether.

rossmikeglynn 01-03-2013 07:41 AM

The frame on the racquet in the pictures has different edges than my other Tour 95, so you're saying thats possible that one Tour 95 is rounded edges, one is sharp edges?

bcart1991 01-03-2013 09:10 AM

Possible. The frame you posted looks just like the frame I owned, as well as the PS6.0 95 I also have.

Hannah19 01-03-2013 02:15 PM

Are you sure it's a 95? Looks like a normal 90 Tour to me.

The rounded edges one is a Tour 95 and the box beam (sharp edges) is Pro Staff Original 95 with Tour 95 cosmetic. TW was selling them for a short period in 2004?.

Here is the Pro Staff Original 95
