Overgrips Slipping

Hey guys,

I've recently developed a problem with my grips. I will change the grip and within 25 min of hitting it'll start slipping. I use Wilsion Pro Overgrip and don't sweat too much in my hands. Does anyone know a way to tack it up? Without that tacky towel, that thing is awful.

Alose, it seems as if my hands eat up the grips before their tackiness has worn off because they are so rough. Does anyone have answer?

wilson pro isnt very tacky IMO. over-rated. but horses for courses..

try gamma supreme and Volk v-tac

Lot of people seem to like the Mantis overgrips as well. Ramos77 nailed it - it's subjective, so you'll simply need to buy a pack of several types of overgrips and see which one works best for you. Read the reviews. If you see a lot of positive feedback, then it may be worth trying. Best of luck!

You should experiment, at least overgrips are not expensive stuff.

I tried all kinds of overgrips that are avilable on my market, and strongly prefer Wilson Pro Overgrip over anything else, but once again it's all individual.

TF Contact over-grip is about the most secure, long lasting one I have tried. Comfortable and secure with wet or dry hands and in all kinds of weather.

Same experience...
Any recommendations on tackier grips?

wipe your hand on your shorts between points (like in squash, often players even wipe across the wall) and on a towel at change of ends.

go to a pro-shop and buy various different types of overgrip and experiment. maybe you need a perforated one, or find that you like the ones with the lines. it's a very personal choice. Some people are anal and change grips every set, others only after the grip starts to disintegrate.

I use babolat pro-tour as it is what is available regularly at my local shop and it is pretty grippy for me, although I think there are tackier ones.

Yonex Super Grap.

Gamma Supreme. It's like a grippy version of Wilson Pro. So much better.

Ive used Wilson Profile before, its probably the tackiest I have ever used. It has grooves in it which help with traction.

Perhaps worth a try.

I liked Gamma Supreme for its tackiness, but the newer version of it is thinner. I think you can still get the older version on Amazon if you buy a 30 pack.

Supergrap should be more than tacky enough for your needs.

I didn't like Wilson profile that much.

Supergrap is too tacky for me, Wilson Pro and Pacific Xtack are perfect. Also have found the passive method of using a sweat band on your forehand wrist works wonders.

Another vote for supergrap. Not even tempted to try another overgrip with how good it performs.

And also second the wrist band on the forehand side

I've always wanted to try Pacific Xtack, what would you compare it to?

Get Gamma RZR TAC immediately!

This happened to me once when I didn't put enough pressure on the wrapping.

The Wilson Pro is extremely overrated.

For white overgrips:
Gamma RZR and Volk Super Grip II for tack and cushion; Tourna Tac white is not bad, Solinco overgrips have a particular, durable tack.

All these including Mantis and Kirshbaum are more durable (and not dry).

The old Dunlops were very, very durable (do not know what the replacement is), similarly to most of the Head ones, which for some reason I did not like much.

mattavery24 09-28-2013 12:18 AM

I've tried the Wilson pro overgrips and supergrap but my favorite is the solinco wonder Overgrip. It has amazing Tac and the white is great because when it gets dirty you can tell when to replace it. Also it is pretty cheap.

another vote for yonex supergrap. if not these try genesis supra- very very close to supergrap
