Volkl Natural Gut

How is it? Anyone try it? It is priced around $35, how does it compare to VS and Wilson Nat. Gut?

ultradr 01-09-2013 09:55 AM

People in this board reported it plays like Klip and in fact made by Klip.

db10s 01-09-2013 11:30 AM

I had never even heard of it.

db10s 01-09-2013 05:02 PM

No kidding! I've been playing like crap lately. Partly because I had a 2 week cold. Hit for the first time in 2 weeks on Monday.... My backhand SUCKS!

zapvor 01-09-2013 06:32 PM

time to post in the tennis section and have everyone rate you at 2.5

boinz 01-09-2013 07:34 PM

not sure how the Volkl gut compares to the VS or Wilson, but instead whilst searching for reviews on the Becker gut I read its made by Volkl. So if you wanna try Volkl gut, the becker one is *** 5bucks cheaper

djNEiGht 01-09-2013 07:36 PM

I got a racquet and wanted to try klip legend. shop was out of stock so they put in boris becker hero. i wonder if it is the same.

lots of power and a nice crisp feel.

djNEiGht 01-09-2013 10:42 PM

I'll add a review to here on it soon on the hero gut. Initially impressions where good. Lots of tension loss though and seems the power has dropped though. Still crisp.

This ain't looking good for Volkl Gut, 10 posts into the discussion and we still don't have anyone commenting on it. But instead, someone got called-out on, and we're already talking about another gut. Haha.

Nostradamus 01-10-2013 01:40 AM

Not sure what all the argument is about. Babolat gut is the only decent gut out there. All others are not worth $25-35 that they are going for

ramos77 01-10-2013 02:54 AM

you mean wilson gut right?

BT7 is a joke.

McLovin 01-10-2013 05:14 AM

Just an FYI if you guys care: I'm getting ready to post a review of mid-level gut when used w/ a poly cross. I'm starting w/ KLIP Legend Tour & KLIP Armour Pro, using Pacific Classic as the benchmark.

After those two, I have regular KLIP Legend & Boris Becker Hero.

I'm hitting this afternoon, then hope to post either tonight or tomorrow.

Not any more, IMHO, after they reduced the number of layers down to 7, so called "BT7".

Babolat's premium, VS, now plays pretty much like $25-30 gut, and in some aspects, even worse.

db10s 01-10-2013 11:32 AM

And Wilson gut is the old Babolat (non-BT7) gut.

This isnt true.. Klip and pacific make petty quality gut. bt7 is marginally better.

TheRed 01-10-2013 09:18 PM

Ok, let me give you my opinion. Volkl gut is junk. Feels like glorified syn gut. stiff and not much pop. A step below pacific classic so I wouldn't pay more than $23-24 for it. In fact, Mamba supra natural feels better but is less consistent gauge wise.

mctennis 01-17-2013 09:51 PM

I didn't care for Mamba Supra gut. Too dry and brittle. Brakes way too easy. Volkl gut is a ton better gut than the Mamba guts.

Steve Huff 01-18-2013 05:00 AM

I have Volkl gut in the mains in one of my frames now. Durability is average. I haven't broken it yet, but it notched fairly quickly. The yellow has worn off in the middle. There's a little fraying, but not too much. When installing it, Volkl gut is stiffer than Klip (or any other gut I've used for that matter). Not bad comfort wise. Not as much spin as other nat. guts, but better than most synthetics. Like TheRed stated, feels like a $23-25 gut.
