Mofeez truly is a clown. The guys a total joke - 4 DFs in a row on match points? Moron.

JohnnyCracker 01-17-2013 01:29 AM

I've seen many matches... but nothing comes anything close to that end

GhostDog 01-17-2013 02:37 AM

I tuned out, and went to bed after Monfis was down 0-2 in the 3rd set, and was barely moving. It was hard to watch. I thought he was done.

Pleasantly surprised to see he survived this match.

ramos77 01-17-2013 02:49 AM

sure he double faulted on match points, some people either didn't see the whole game or forget that he came back from virtual death to win the match.

he was gone in the 3rd set. so many haters in here criticizing pro players while sitting in a chair

His style summarized in a nutshell....

i wouldn't want to ruin any excitement offered by monfils' comeback so far, but i think you should be warned about the next round (especially the ones who are too young to remember... or the ones who prefered to forget this terrible night at the 2009 AO)...... it's monfils vs simon again !!!

who else does remember that match ?...

hopefully they will schedule it on court #324, in the australian outback... :)
allez gael !

How could anyone forget this match?

It's still used in some families to punish children who are disobedient. ;)

I've heard replays of this match are big hits for imsomniacs.

I propose an endless loop of it be played in Congress prior to the approach of our next financial cliff!

An long interview is available on the AO website:
http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/video/index.html

30+ minutes mostly in French. Rather interesting. Sounds like he's maturing.

TheF1Bob 01-17-2013 05:01 PM

He can redeem himself if,

A) He faces Murray

B) Defeats him

8)

jaggy 01-17-2013 05:02 PM

More power to him

Classic rope-a-dope 101

Defcon 01-17-2013 05:44 PM

I think more like faking injury and acting like an idiot, tanking a set and getting a bit of luck for the win.
