I have to use nicknames too, because otherwise I can't remember their names. I can't think of how many times I've forgotten Mats Wilander's name, including a moment ago when I was writing this post. I don't think BG is making fun of the players, I think he's doing this for memory's sake.

Ha ha ha!!!! Those are pretty clever. Although if I remember correctly baseball player Sammy Sosa was called "Slammin' Sammy" back when he played.

Stan the Man Musial , Joltin' Joe Di Maagio, etc etc but they were baseball players.

The only tennis player who never got called anything but his name, was Marat Safin. And sometimes Sampras got called by his first name but that's not a nickname.

Maybe got drilled at the net a few too many times by Lendl during the 19 beatdowns. :)
