High Altitude Balls in Cold Weather
I play in 5k elevation. By default everyone uses High Altitude Balls to control the bounce. However during the winter time, when we are playing and it's 30 degrees out, we'll use regulation balls because the cold weather does take the bounce out of the balls -- and quickly.
My questions is at what temperature, in high elevation climates, should one use High Elevation balls Vs. Low Elevation balls. 40 degrees, 45, 50? It has become a point of contention in the past because different styles of play like a different style of ball that suits one's game. If there was a general rule of thumb, it would take out the pre-game debate on whether it's "cold enough" to be using regulation balls. Thanks!
