New Dunlop F2 series about to come out

TW quietly lowered the price of all the Dunlop Bio 200 series racquets to $129 today. (except for the max200g)

Only time this happens is when the new ones are about to come out.

Lowered the 500s too.

Already up for viewing on several euro-sites.

Can I please rant to the racquet companies real quick?......

So why is every beam now getting thicker? Please stop this foul and insidious act!

Sorry and thank you.

No kidding. I love the thin beamed sticks! Thin box beam is the way to go!

klementine 01-25-2013 10:49 PM

Yep.

I like all kinds of beams/racquets.

But seeing the radical at 22mm (instead of 21), the blades at 21.5 (instead of 20) and now the Dunny200 at 21.5!?!

Just keep them as is. They're alienating their base customers while trying to attract some converts. Makes no sense.

slowfox 01-25-2013 11:21 PM

You want thin beams, go to Donnay. Seems most racquet manufacturers are moving towards "Babolat" thickness these days.

Yeah, it's extremely awkward for my one handed backhand. I can't properly clutch the throat!!!!!

F2.0 Tour

Intresting to see how the F2.0 Tour plays against bio 200. Specs are pretty much the same. If it turns out to be almost similar in every aspect except the low twistweight (narrow ss), it is a must buy.
I just wonder how they name the 200 tour replacements. Since the regular bio 200 follower got the "tour" status.

srvnvly 01-26-2013 09:11 AM

The M 2.0 looks interesting; I also see that TWE has the items up for viewing but no spec info: http://www.tenniswarehouse-europe.co...DUNLOPRAC.html.

slowfox 01-26-2013 11:30 AM

At least the paint jobs look good.

Blitzball 01-26-2013 12:38 PM

Yeah I really like the paintjob and the F3.0 Tour is a great stick which makes the 2.0 models promising. Does anyone know the specs on the M2.0? Too lazy to search.

Fox, you're on to something.

Maybe there's a deal between the manufacturers: eventually just build one line of Babolat-style frames and use different maufacturer PJs!

This reduces (or eliminates) R&D costs and lowers manufacturing costs but you get to charge the same price. Result: huge margin increases!

One day a Prestige Pro and a Pure Drive will really be the same frame with different PJs. They have already convinced consumers that pros use certain frames when they're really just PJs. This is the next logical step.

:D

I think it makes sense to move almost every line of racquet towards demands of modern game. Heck, even Federer is struggling against Djokovic and Murray.
I admit having my own intrest here because as I really like my bio 200, I wish it would be a tad stiffer and some wider ss. Especially when the match moves towards baseline bashing with extreme topspin.

Bartelby 01-26-2013 04:39 PM

Wilson 6.1 22mm beam seems to be what they are imitating, not any Babolat.

from 57 to 67, hmm not sure if it's a right move, might be too far for 200 series fans, anyone know when the classic line is released?

What? That can't be right. According to Dunlop's website it is 63: http://www.dunlop.com/gb/catalog/201...ackets/f2-tour

Although the stiffness ratings was all over the place with biomimetics. From 57 to 63 sounds just perfect to me, but I can understand why some disagree.

mike_l 01-29-2013 09:23 AM

yeah actually you are right there was similar confusion with bio line

now i see classic line is already available on dunlop store site, interestingly it is cheaper than FMS
