In this video the guy cites McEnroe as an offensive player who also pushed, and Murray as the modern version. It seems pushing can be a good thing. I wanna be a pusher like Mac.

I think it is a real stretch to call Mac an Offensive pusher. He may have pushed when in a defensive position or occasionally. But he was serve and volley, get to the net in his hey day.

I totally agree. He is talking about floating the ball back to give yourself recovery time. This is a smart strategy, but doing this when you are in trouble doesn't make you a pusher.

On the other hand, the rest of this video is pretty good.

If you can close net and volley, you have a good chance of hitting winners against a pusher. A common weakness of rec players is an inability to hit overheads. If you want to destroy pushers, you need to spend some time hitting overheads, ideally each time you practice.

Not sure how you guys define pusher, but a player with variety and someone with precise strokes and/or good defensive technique shouldn't be the definition of a pusher.
