Blue overgrip EVERY pro seems to use?

Specifically, what is that blue overgrip that we see on nearly every single pro racquet? I'm sure this had been said before, so my apologies...

It's Tourna over grip. Very thin and absorbent, but low durability.

Has a paper type feel to it

Lilguy1456 01-26-2013 08:13 AM

Excellent...thanks!

Quite a few pros (notably. Andy Murray) use the XL variant; just something to consider.

I personally hate the tourna grip because if you look at it it looks like some sort of cheap material they use and theres like spots on it with tiny hairs

I'm not a big fan of it either after I switched over to Yonex and Wilson over grips. Too thin and dry for my hands.

Frankauc 01-26-2013 09:33 AM

it gives me blisters, too rought for my hands

Tourna is very absorbent but, as has already been mentioned, it isn't very durable or soft on the hands. Durability obviously isn't a problem though for pro's who can change OG's as much as they like.

Personally, I prefer Wilson Pro Overgrip or Yonex Super Grap. These are much more comfortable and still last ages, even with my unfortunately sweaty hands :s

I love Tourna, so absorbent and cheap. I change it every 3 sets, very quick and easy to do. Little bit rough on the hands but being male I don't care what my hands look like.

Just make sure to buy XL or XXL, as the regular length is too short for most modern racquets.

As re Andy Murray, unlike most his overgrip is actually branded by Head, the only company that paid Tourna to replicate their grip (and thus was not sued back in the day). Same thing as Tourna, but figured I'd mention it.

I use whatever white tacky grips I can find.

What are your thoughts on Yonex Supergrap?

Are you a sponsored player?
It is very nice for the first 2 or 3 sets though....

I think Supergrap is great. Not too tacky but still grippy enough. Thin but still thick enough. Perfect balance for me. I've only used the white color.

I just switched to volkl OG after using yonex for years. like them both a lot. I also like yonex wave Og

cluckcluck 01-26-2013 10:42 AM

I have used Gamma Supreme for the last 4 or 5 years. It's the only tacky OG that I has been consistent for me. Tourna is crummy as it hurts my hand. It feels like 800 grit sand paper.

This is my favorite. It lasts so much longer than Wilson pro over grip.

I've been using Gamma Pro Wrap for years. They're very economic. Very decent for my level of usage.

Yonex Supergap is the best around, and you can buy a roll of 30 for about 1.10$ each, not bad for such high quality.

Yonex Super grap (white)
Wilson Pro overgrip (white)
Gamma Supreme (white)
Babolat VS original (white
Babolat pro tour (white)

when I bought my Völkl racquets they came with a 10 pack
of grips, they are Völkl but I think Tournagrip made them,
they are exactly the same but Yellow.
On positive about this grips is that you can reverse them,
use them on one side, then change it.
