This final showed that tennis is badly missing Nadal

People are finally realizing that Nadal is good and exciting for tennis.
I hope Rafa comes back strong and Federer keeps playing for at least a decade.

Winners/unforced errors stats:

Djoker: 47 winners/61 unforced errors (-14)

Murray:29 winners/46 unforced errors (-17)

Is this what tennis has become? Is this the product the ITF Grand Slam committee thinks people will pay to see and tune in to on their tv?

They have got to start speeding courts up.

Way to think one player is bigger than the sport.

Mustard 01-27-2013 04:44 AM

I can't wait for Rafa's return. I hope it's a real success.

Rocky89 01-27-2013 04:46 AM

I agree, I can't wait for him to come back. Even though I'm a big fan of tennis in general I still miss the guy.

No one is saying he is bigger then the sport, but you can't deny he brings a certain excitement to the sport and is missed my many (even the trolls miss having someone to hate on)

President 01-27-2013 04:48 AM

I agree, we need Federer and Nadal at the top! Vamos Rafa, Come on Roger!

See I would agree with that, except after the last two atrocious finals it just becomes more clear that Fed and Nadal are indeed far more entertaining to watch. Whether that is against each other or Novak/Murray.

Novak/Murray as a combination, unfortunately, is a snoozefest.

dominikk1985 01-27-2013 04:51 AM

I agree. nadal also doesn't always have the most exiting game but he has some glamour around him that nole and murray don't have (not as much as fed but still).

the more top players have the better.

kalyan4fedever 01-27-2013 04:51 AM

ofcourse if he was there results would be a whole lot different everything will be affected by a player who has a +ve h2h against all the top 1-2 and temporary 3

tennis_pro 01-27-2013 04:52 AM

Can't believe I'm saying this but Nadal needs to come back AND FAST. I don't wanna see Murray-Djokovic finals all the time. They make me sick.

Even if nadal comes back fed is not going to be around forever so there is still a possibility of djok-murray finals, the only thing to do is speed up the courts

JRAJ1988 01-27-2013 04:56 AM

Being a Murray fan I agree lol...this final was terrible to watch, no but the match itself was a borefest...I got up early with a hangover to see but a game of pensioner ping pong. Nadal needs to return without ANY injuries to get back in the mix.

Rocky89 01-27-2013 04:56 AM

The media needs to stop trying to make Murrovic happen.

It's not going to happen.

MichaelNadal 01-27-2013 05:00 AM

Bamos Rafa.

FedererDropShot 01-27-2013 05:00 AM

Allez Rogi! Vamos Rafa!

We need Fedal back in action.

Hopefully, Roger can beat Djokovic at the FO and Rafa can beat Murray at the FO for a FEDAL FO final.

Same with Wimbledon.

It's already crap enough that we have both hardcourt slams being dominated by Murrovic.

SempreSami 01-27-2013 05:05 AM

Need I remind you whingers that the 2011 FO final was a textbook display of tedium.

There are plenty of players capable of providing entertainment in tennis but it's neither Murray nor Djokovic's fault that they're better than them and end up cancelling each other out.

I don't mind Nadal at all and it'll be good to have another contender in the Grand Slams but holding him up like some sort of Messiah with dodgy knees is silly.

SLD76 01-27-2013 05:07 AM

I dont miss nadal.

but what I do miss is guys who are shot makers and creative on court.

what a boring match of human pong.

TheF1Bob 01-27-2013 05:10 AM

Blame Murray. Novak was just doing the bare minimum required to win.

Muzza = Pusher = Disgusting

JRAJ1988 01-27-2013 05:17 AM

Brad Gilbert was a pusher and everyone gave him credit for it.

Yeah but he wasn't winning slams and making major finals consistently.
