Today when Utah Played Air Force one of our players, Alejandro Medinilla, saved 12 match point down 4-5 in the 3rd and ended up winning in a 3rd set tie breaker. Is this some type of record??
Also, it one of the most intense matches I've ever seen, and that includes ATP matches.

I thought the Utes would have a bigger break-through this year than they have. Losing to Denver was disappointing. Willems playing 3. Talented guy but not all there mentally, he was rarely in the top 6 at Clemson last year.

Yes, I'm thinking it will take them a few years to get very competitive in the PAC-12. The PAC-12 has some VERY good players, and I do think that this challenge will help us draw some good talent. It will take some time, but the Utes will have a break out. Our #1 is just a sophomore and is already a very good player. He's going to be very tough his senior year, and the heavy California/Florida recruiting that Utah is really doing since joining PAC-12 is going to pay off within a few years.

Willems is a cool guy, but he seems lonely. I always see him off on his own around campus, when he gets more friends his mentality will probably improve. I think I'm going to try reaching out to him.

It's really all gone down hill. Lost to UC Santa Barbara today 6-1. I thought Utah would be in the top 50 this year. They are struggling and haven't even hit Pac 12 play yet. I like Hamza as a player hope he can have a good season in the pac 12.

Yeah, Hamza really is a very good player, and he still has two seasons to lead the team after this. His unique style is also fun to watch.
From what I've heard though, the Utah coaching staff is no good. They should probably look at changing the coaching staff if they want to get to the next level.

Utes upset Oregon 5-2 today. All fairly lopsided results as well.

Utah lost to UCLA 1-6, but they had a bright spot! Slim Hamza beat #19 Adrian Puget in straight sets. Hamza is undefeated in PAC-12 play. He will definitely be the leader of the Utes going forward as he is only a sophomore right now. I think he could potentially be one of the NCAA's top players by his senior year, but who knows. We'll see!

How about Cedric Willems getting a ranked win vs USC? Nice playing for him.

Yeah, it's a huge win for him. I think I should also add that the Utes did beat Arizona. Nobody had posted that yet. I'm hopeful that the Utes will be major contenders in a couple years. We can only hope that recruiting goes well.

a win is a win .. but Grant was hurt and served under-hand through-out the whole match ... put that in perspective .. and Grant is more of a serve and volley player than others..

Slim Hamza played an excellent match against Hanfmann.. it was hard fought and closer than the scores showed.. he's clearly the best player on that team ..

That's ridiculously silly, he should have say in that case.

USC didn't really have a choice .. they had 2 players out playing Davis cup matches..

I talked to the coaches up here Monday, and i I didn't see Utah s Stanford, but it was a 5-2 loss in which Utah apparently had tons of chances to actually win. Good sign, but its really too bad they couldn't take it :/
