Where it all began
My oldest son is about to turn 16 this month. When I look back there are a lot of good memories. The main thing is having fun. Here is the beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fDF1AM1MJg

This is the best 3 yr old tennis player I have ever seen! He also talked like a 6-7 yr old boy! How is he doing now?
|
He had a real big vocabulary at a young age. He did not want to do weekly lessons and clinics until 4th grade.Tennis was never easy for him, but he has never given up. (proud dad) Each year he has done better than the previous until he got in the 16s. He has struggled this last year and lost a lot of confidence. He is one of those players who has been ranked in the 50s or 60s in our state. We live in Georgia and tennis is tough here. I think part of the problem is that it is so much easier for the younger brother....

That must be some fun days to have a kid ready to rip apart balls :-). I think thats the whole idea about introducing kids to sports, build a mind and a body that can take on whatever challenges life throws at them, head on, all their life. In the process if they end up as Federer or Nadal, thats the added bonus :-) |
Wow, that is one cute kid!!!
If you asked me 13 years ago, I would have said that he should be in the movies..... |

Thanks folks, we are heading to a tournament next weekend. He just got back from a high school tournament last night.

gpl, that is awesome! We are so lucky to have this experience to share with our kids. We are from Georgia as well, and I will tell you that while our tennis is tough here, it carries alot of weight at the next level. Coach after coach told my son on recruiting visits and phone calls that they LOVE Georgia kids because they play such consistently good competition. Good luck!
