stringing Wilson 99s with a Klippermate
Has anyone with a wilson 99s strung the racket themselves with a klippermate stringer? How difficult is it to do with the floating clamps, given the extremely open pattern?
thanks in advance, sam |
Dunno about the klippermate but on my gamma electronic it was a pain in the *** the first time. Didn't realize till after I mounted it and string the mains that the crosses are in very odd places right next to main holes. Made stringing and clamping the crosses a pain because where 4 of the 6 point frame clamps sat. Next time I did it I moved the frame clamps towards the hoop and throat and it made it much easier. Never had to do that before on a frame smaller than 100 sq in.

I string my six one 95 16x18 with klippermate, only the top and bottom two is annoying, because the of the big gap.Its really not difficult, if you cant clamp it on the last or second main, then clamp the third or fourth main, when you pull the next cross, it would also pull the end of the previous cross that you didnt tension.

I have yet to string one. But with flying clamps, i would assume that you would have to stretch the strings closer to eachother when clamping. |
Also to OP, post this in the stringing section, there are tons of highly experienced stringers out there that would be able to help you out.
