Coach/Academy suggestion Bradenton, FL
We are from another state but may be spending this summer in Bradenton, FL.
Have 3 kids which by summer will be 16 y.o. girl (ranked in 20s USTA Southwest), 12 y.o. girl (ranked between 10-20), and 9 y.o. boy (ranked around 10) So kids are not tennis stars but love tennis and would like to improve during summer. Looking for coach/academy where they can play 3-6 hours M-F. I know Bolleteri/IMG is there but not interested in high priced programs where attention is focused on the top players and our kids will not get much attention or get pushed to the periphery. Does any one know the area and have suggestions? Thank you so much in advance! |
Hi, anyone knows this area?
Thanks! |
Have a look at Club Med Tennis Academy in Florida. Gabe Jaramillo is a very good guy.

IMG is a AWESOME experience for a kid. Very inspirational. At least spend some time there because it's a cool experience.

Looking for top flight tennis other than IMG (I totally agree that the top players get the attention it's really a meat market) you have Saddlebrook to the north or Sanchez/Casal south in Naples......again both far and hours away. Know some folks who had kids at Guizar Tennis in Clearwater and Elsawy Tennis based out of the courts at USF in Tampa has some players come out of there - |
I met my wife 10 years ago in Bradenton. I remember playing tennis at the GT Bray park public courts. I remember there was like 8 hard and 8 clay courts, very nice facility. Looks like a tennis academy is based out of there now, the Pro Tennis Academy. Don't know much about this academy. We moved to the Chicago area years ago, so I have no ties to the Bradenton area anymore. Looks like they have some top juniors that train there including Maria Shishkina.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions!
We have access to free condo in Bradenton so that will be our base. Leaning towards Celsius, looks like they run a real good program. Pro Tennis Academy looks good, a bit pricey with 3 kids though. Can't find a website for Hugo Armano. Thanks again to all! |
