Chris: Volkl and string setup for a friend with shoulder surgery
Hi Chris! I recommended a friend to buy a Volkl Classic V1. The reason is he had shoulder surgery and he needs an arm friendly racket. I suggested Babolat Tonic gut to him but in the long run it could get expensive for him. He hits flat so maybe he wont break the gut that fast. This time he will purchase the gut for this first stringing job.
What tension would you suggest?
Also, is there any other string (full job or hybrid) besides gut that you could recommend that complements the VI Volkl feel and still makes it arm friendly?
Bump. Would appreciate your response Chris on this one. Thanks as always for your knowledgable advice.:)
I would have him go a couple of pounds under mid. The gut will hold tension and the low starting point will help him find power with minimum effort.
He could switch to a good multi like NRG2 or X-One Biphase. He could also use half sets of gut in the mains with something like E-Matrix in the crosses to improve cost.
