TT Synthetic Gut Association (Nylon)

Do you play with A FULL JOB synthetic gut and it works damn well for you?
Do you feel relief everytime you see expensive strings and you think about how cheap your string is?

This is your club. Discussion variations of Synthetic gut, nylon, whatever you wanna call it here.
Post pictures of racquets with it, discuss prices and what works for you.

I'll start by myself, i use a cheap 1.40mm nylon from an unknown brand. Plays very crisp and comfortable, reminds me a lot of Wilson Extreme Synthetic Gut, wouldn't be surprised if they were made in the same factory.

Here's a picture of my pog mid strung with it at 20kgs:

When I do play with synthetic gut, I like Forten Sweet 16. I honestly find it hard to notice what synthetic guts I play better with than others, unlike multis and polys. But I do favor softer strings like Forten Sweet compared to stiffer ones like gosen

THESEXPISTOL 03-12-2013 03:36 PM

OMG, i forgot Forten Sweet on the poll. Shame on me!

Micro's a nice string. I play with a full bed of it around 60 Lbs every once in a while.

Nylon is good when first learning how to string. It's excellent at mitigating the agony of clamp slippage or breakage from improper knot technique.

I am playing doubles mostly these days and I find that syngut works fine. I hit flatter in doubles and touch is better than Polys. Plus no arm problems any more. Using mainly gosen and prince synthetic.

OGSM, PSGO - usually one or the other. Recently got some Forten Sweet so I'll be trying that soon.

I used to... And then I started breaking it way too fast... PSGD

I don't usually play with synthetic gut. But when I do, I prefer Babolat Nv. Y.

do you also drink Dos Equis beer?

Francis27, shame on you for voting Wilson Extreme and Gamma Wearguard. Those are the worst synthetic guts in the market.

He voted on all of them, so...

Pro Supex Spiral Flex and Gosen OG Micro work best for me.. spiral flex has excellent durability and spin that is unmatched in other syn guts

Triskadekaphilia 03-13-2013 05:40 PM

I like forten because it has nice feel, like a multifilament that doesn't go mushy as readily. Dunlop is my favorite stiffer sg. My top vote goes for volkl since it has good feel and looks awesome.

I play really well with AG Syn Gut. Around my circles we call it All Ghetto b/c it's dirt cheap, moves tremendously & we flat out like no-name, "bad" strings.

VeeSe 03-13-2013 06:04 PM

Never tried most of these, but I used to play with Alpha Hardcourt synthetic gut and I really liked that.

AG 16 is one of the best nylon strings for the price imo. Only red synthetic gut I can get in a reel for really cheap prices, performs pretty well on court as well.

Jim Courier used Gosen OG-Sheep Micro Super JC during his pro career. He won 4 slams using Synthetic Gut.

Jay Berger used PSGO:

Aaron Krickstein used PSGO:

Vince Spadea used Prince Topspin 15L:

Wayne Ferreira used some Gosen string too:
