leather with bottom half overgripped
been testing out dunlop leather replacement grip and the other day the racket flew out of my hand for the first time ever. So I wrapped gamma tac overgrip on the bottom half. Looks kinda cool. I'll post a pic. Anyone else doing this? Figured we'd still see the leather this way.

I tried that once. Because the handle was still a size too small with the leather, I wrapped the Gamma Supreme with a 1/2 overlap. I was pretty happy with it, but decided to go with a 1/2 overlap of gauze tape over the whole leather grip, then covered the whole grip with a Dunlop Viper Dry OG, with very little overlap. The gauze tape keeps the bevels and the firmness of the leather very well.

IIRC Gasquet uses that "design".

i think i should do it too. since i use 1hbh. and dont usually use the top of the handle. looks nice

I don't do it to this extent, my overgrip only ends up being a couple of inches short of the top of the leather grip.

i do it in order to build up the but cap a little on my Prince racquet. For Wilson, i don't do it as much.

"Everything old is new again." When gauze tape first appeared in the '70s, many of us realized wrapping the entire handle was messy, sticky and unnecessary ;). Often, we would wrap one 'wrap' just above the butt cap...where the heel of your hand would go. This left the rest of the grip 'natural', but provided a little more 'grab' at the base of the handle.

I draw the line at platform boots, loud flashy shirts open to the navel, bell bottoms, afro or mullet styled hairdos. Would not mind seeing mini skirts make a comeback.
