2013 Wilson Blade 18x20
What string set up to use?

fortun8son 03-19-2013 11:32 PM

Gotta give us more info than that!

What string to use? Tension?

BIGJ98 03-20-2013 11:32 AM

Give us your playing style and what you want out of the string( spin, power, control...)

kazamzaa 03-20-2013 11:33 AM

1. Skill level?
2. How many hours of play strings should last?
3. Play style?
4. What have you used before?
5. Have you had any arm issues?
6. What are you looking for of the string?

Was using prestige pro, vs mains rpm blast crosses, 50/46. A 5.0 baseliner, looking for more power on serve and more drive on groundstrokes.

If I were you I would start with the same thing as you used. Then maybe string one racquet with a different poly crosses. In example Tourna polys or MSV. From Luxilon maybe 4g, but not the alu power.

How does the 4g compare to the rpm when it comes to comfort? What about longevity when comparing the two poly strings?

Full natural gut will have power, spin, control, and longevity. Not as firm a feel as a hybrid with poly though. String it 5 lbs. higher than syn gut.

I've demo this racquet with Luxilon 4G and it felt great and control was excellent. In result I've purchase the frame and currently playing with Weiss Cannon Silverstring 17g and feel that Luxilon 4G felt much better. Of course you must consider cost as well. Luxilon 4G it is not cheap...

This racket plays well with a full poly set up. 4g did play extremly well in this racket but it is expensive for a poly. I tried a gut/poly hybrid and I did not care for it. It was a bit unpredictable. I used 4g for the cross. I imagine a textured poly in the cross might work better.
